Traci Baxley, Ed.D
Traci P. Baxley is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Curriculum, Culture, and Educational Inquiry at Florida Atlantic University, where she teaches courses in Multicultural Education and Curriculum & Instruction. Her areas of interests include critical literacy, multicultural literature, racial identity development, and social justice education. She has published in international and national peer reviewed journals including Taboo: The Journal of Culture and Education, International Journal of Critical Pedagogy, and Urban Education.
Lori Dassa, Ed.D.
Lori Dassa is a Core Teaching Instructor in the Department of Teaching and Learning at Florida Atlantic University, where she has been teaching courses in Effective Teaching Practices and Beginning Reading for over 7 years. Her areas of interest are teacher retention, developmentally appropriate practices for young children and critical literacy. She has published two books related to helping elementary school teachers pass state exams and how to be successful professionals once they become a teacher. She enjoys speaking at conferences for organizations including FATE, FFEA, and NAEYC. She has an earned masters of education in PreK/Primary education and a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction. Before coming to FAU she was a Palm Beach County teacher for nine years. She worked in grades K, 3 and reading remediation. She also was an adjunct professor at Nova Southeastern University in their primary education department.
- Traci Baxley, Ed.D
Jayne Hafer, the Childcare Center Director and Teacher at the N. E. Focal Point Intergenerational Center in Deerfield Beach, has three decades of educational experience. A recipient of many awards, including Broward County Child Advocate of the Year, Jayne obtained with honors an AS in Early Childhood Education and is pursuing her Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education. Married for over thirty years, with four children, Jayne has served as the PTSA President at all elementary and secondary schools in Deerfield Beach. Jayne's philosophy of early childhood education is to unite the community and provide resources for all families.
- Vice President A- Jessica Johnting
Jessica Johnting is a Graduate Student at Florida Atlantic and is currently pursuing her Masters in Elementary Education. Her goal as a future teacher will be to integrate the arts into education on a regular basis while creating an experience for students which will serve to enhance the education process as well as make it a memorable one. Jessica's experiences in the education field include several years volunteering as a tutor for students ages 5-17 and a summer working at the Boys and Girls Club as Art Coordinator. She also participated in the FAU College of Education's Good Fit Program where she worked in a 2nd grade classroom for a semester. With pride for her FAU Owls and a great interest in event management, she hopes to serve Kappa Delta Pi proud as the 2012-2013 Vice President of Chapter and Program Services.
- Secretary - Corinne Scanlon
Corinne 'Cori' Scanlon is currently a Senior and is majoring in Elementary Education. She loves to observe in the classroom and cannot wait until she has one of her own. Teaching is not her only passion, Cori is currently the Vice President of Membership of the National Honorary Band Fraternity Kappa Kappa Psi here at FAU. Cori works at the Everglades Youth Conservation Camp, the Pine Jog/FAU owned sleep-away camp, every summer including this upcoming one. It was here where she finally realized that she had a passion for teaching.

Historian- Ruth Davis
Bio: Ruth Davis is currently a senior and will be graduating with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education. She obtained with honors an A.A. in Elementary Education. She has compiled over 200 hours of field experience during the course of pursuing her Bachelor's in Elementary Education. As an employee of Broward Public Schools, she has had the opportunity to closely work with special needs students which gives her more experience. She also tutor students in various subject areas.

The Budget committee is chaired by the Treasurer. This committee is responsible for developing the budget, analyzing the cost of programs for the year, developing fund-raising activities, and anticipating chapter expenditures. This committee ensures that the chapter operates within its budget and that the chapter will be financially stable for the next year.

Chapter Services and Programs
The Chapter Services and Programs committee is chaired by Vice-President A. The committee is responsible for coordinating fundraisers, service projects, speakers, and other exciting events for the chapter members. The committee works to recognize member accomplishments and to further develop the chapter.

The Communications committee is chaired by the Secretary. The committee is responsible for development of the chapter website, sending emails and newsletters, developing bulletin boards, and preparing all print, non-print, and electronic materials for the chapter.

By-Laws and Constitution
The By-Laws and Constitution committee is chaired by the Sergeant-at-Arms. The committee is responsible for updating and amending the chapter by-laws to meet the needs of the chapter, as well as ensuring that chapter activities follow the by-laws and any applicable items from the international constitution.

The Membership committee, as well as its sub-committee for Nominations, is chaired by Vice President B. The Membership committee is responsible for answering member questions regarding membership, generating lists of potential members, overseeing orientation and initiation activities, and creating activities to enhance and increase membership. The nominations committee is responsible for recruiting members to serve in officer positions and overseeing elections.
